Player Facts:
  • Jeremy grew up dreaming of playing for the University of Oklahoma but they thought he was too small. He went to a junior college, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where he got bigger and dominated. Miami and Oklahoma recruited him after his first year but he was still miffed by how he was treated by Oklahoma the year before, and so he decided to go to Miami - a decision that did not go over so well in his hometown. (New York Magazine, August 11, 2003)
  • Jeremy has been selected to four Pro Bowls in his first six seasons, which is a record for a Giants tight end. He is the first Giant since Lawrence Taylor in 1982 to be a Pro Bowl selection in each of his first two seasons. (New York Giants)
  • In 2002, Shockey's 74 receptions set Giants franchise rookie and tight end records (New York Giants)
  • With 371 career receptions at the end of the 2007 season, Jeremy is fourth in Giants history and No. 1 among all Giants tight ends. Out of the entire league, Jeremy ranks second to Kansas City's Tony Gonzalez among active tight ends. (New York Giants)
  • Shockey was the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year in 2002, as well as an All Pro selection that season. He is a Super Bowl XLII Champion. (New York Giants)
  • In 2008, the New Orleans Saints acquired Jeremy Shockey for a second- and a fifth-round draft pick in 2009 (NFL, July 21, 2008)
