Peyton's mother, Olivia Manning, was a Homecoming Queen at Mississippi. His father, Archie Manning, was a Mississippi and New Orleans Saints quarterback, and his older brother, Eli, is currently the quarterback for the New York Giants. Peyton and his brothers share a really close relationship, and he and Eli talk on the phone every Thursday during football season. (Nola, September 8, 2006)

Peyton graduated cum laude with a bachelor's in speech communications at the University Of Tennessee, earning his degree in just three years. As the NFL's most marketable player, Manning has advertised for numerous companies, including Sprint, Sony, MasterCard, DirecTV, Gatorade, the American Red Cross, and H. H. Gregg. The entire Manning family, parents Olivia and Archie, along with sons Eli, Peyton, and Cooper, were all featured on ESPN SportsCenter together. At 22 years, five months and 13 days, Peyton was the seventh-youngest starting quarterback in NFL history. Just ahead of him on that same list was his own father (22 years and four months for New Orleans in 1971).
Since the 2001 season, the Colts rarely huddle--they prefer Manning to call plays at the line of scrimmage, aided by hand gestures
Peyton is the only quarterback ever in NFL history to surpass 3,000 passing yards and 25 touchdowns in each of his first nine NFL seasons
Manning has broken dozens of high school, college, rookie, NFL, and Colts franchise records and won an equally impressive number of awards. Among his NFL awards are Super Bowl and Pro Bowl MVP in 2007 and 2005, and the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2005.
Peyton is an eight time Pro Bowl selection and a six time All-Pro selection. Additionally, he is a two-time AP NFL MVP.
Manning has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month three times (September 2003, November 2004, and October 2006), and was named Offensive Player of the Week 16 times
Peyton holds NFL records for consecutive seasons with over 4,000 yards passing, as well as the most total seasons with 4,000+ career yards passing. He holds the second highest career passer rating, and is the No.1 for career passing yards and passing touchdowns for the Colts franchise.

Charities:

Shortly after beginning his NFL career, Manning started his own charity, the Peyback Foundation. The Peyback Foundation's mission is to help disadvantaged kids, and focuses its efforts in Louisiana, Tennessee, and Indiana.
On September 6, 2007, St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis renamed its children's hospital to "Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent". Manning and his wife made a donation of an undisclosed amount to St. Vincent's and have had a relationship with the hospital since his arrival in Indianapolis.
